Backdate Startup

Good evening, everyone!

We’re back after the festive period!

NOTE: This post has been backdated from our Wixsite!

Find out what this means

Hey guys! Both of us here at the Star Technology team have returned to the office after the festive period. We hope you enjoyed the holidays as much as we did and 2020 brings in fresh opportunities for the new year!

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be working on our new self-hosted web and email servers – here’s some of the details we’re able to release:

– Our new servers will make use of Raspberry Pi hardware for low-power operation

– We’ll enable HTTPS on our new servers which will enable secure connections, if possible we’ll have the servers require secure connections (NOTE: the email server will be internal log-in only)

– User accounts will be disabled in keeping with our privacy values, and all data on the servers related to web operations will be encrypted (in some cases, multiple times)

– All website, storefront, file download and email data will be held by ourselves, not a third party

We’re also making a push to sell some items we’ve restored when our new website is up and running. Soon on the list up are a Dell Vostro PC tower and a Dell Inspiron 1000 laptop (both are primarily suited for light office tasks), among others.

Finally, Project FUJI remains on hold temporarily, as we focus on some behind-the-scenes work, restoring items and promotion primarily, once the new website is completed. We apologise the project has suffered such extensive delays, but we feel that if we do it correctly, it could be well worth the wait!

That’s all for today, guys! Thanks for tuning in, we’ll be back next week with another update for you.
